SHOW TRANSCRIPT

You're listening to the voice of your brand Podcast, episode number two. In today's podcast, we're talking about messaging and why it's not just what you say. It's how you say it. That's coming up next. Ready to go behind the scenes and learn what it really takes to stand out as the voice of your brand. I'm Katherine back, voice actor and voice coach. And after 20 years of being the voice of other brands, I'm here to show you how your voice is your most powerful tool to creating the impact, influence and income you desire. The world is your global stage. So get ready to uplevel your voice and your personal brand. This is the voice of your brand podcast. We will get started with today's episode in just a moment. But first, I want to give a humongous thank you to all of you out there who have been following subscribing the podcast downloading the episodes, giving those five star ratings and reviews it means the world to me, you know, it's not easy starting a new podcast. I did this once before. And I had great success. And so I've been re-invigorated and really excited to start this new podcast. But I'll be honest with you, it's a lot of work. And so the fact that you're out there, you're supporting this new podcast, there are so many podcasts to listen to. So for you to take just a few minutes out of your day, and help support a brand new podcast means the world to me. So thank you so very much. All right, let's get to it, shall we? Now here's the thing with messaging, messaging is like your unique message and take on what you do. And it's how you describe it. At least that's how I perceive it. Now, there's probably other people out there that can more eloquently describe what messaging is all about. But for me, this is where I see people suffer. And this is why this podcast episode I'm so passionate about and is really the evolution of my work in voice coaching is that it's not just what you say it's how you say it, how you deliver that message. Now that could be doing a podcast episode, or showing up and doing a guest interview on somebody else's podcast creating a YouTube video that could be you showing up and doing an Instagram real or Tik Tok. That could be you literally not using your voice and using other ways to get your messaging out, because you're holding back and using your voice. That's a whole nother episode. In this one I want to talk about the delivery. One of the common themes that I see happens is we get so wrapped up in our heads, thinking about the messaging, thinking about the words, thinking even about the delivery of you know, wanting everything to be perfect, that we are like our own worst enemy, we are the ones that are getting ourselves in the way of the goal, the outcome that we want. And the more that we can start to relieve some of that pressure and allow ourselves some of those imperfections, you're going to find your delivery is going to be way better. But here's the thing, you can have the most perfect words on the page. But if you don't know how to deliver them in a way that's going to connect with your audience on a deeper level, it's gonna be really hard to get to that next level in your business. So if you feel like your business is sort of kind of at a standstill, like you've had some growth and you're doing all right, but you can't quite get to that next level. For example, maybe you're like steadily making six figures, let's say you're making around 200 $250,000 a year, and he can't quite get to that next stage. Perhaps it's in your delivery, perhaps it's in that connection with your audience, perhaps it's in allowing your audience to see who you are, that does not mean that they need to see everything about you, but just allowing them in just a little bit so that they can see that you are an authentic person share just a little bit of vulnerability. Again, not a lot. Share with them that you are a real human being. Because that's what they want. They want to feel that connection with you. They also want to feel seen and heard. And even though it very likely could be a one way conversation like I'm having right now on this podcast where I can't see you. And I can't hear you talking back at me. I'm imagining that we're having a two way conversation right now. I'm imagining that I'm speaking to you And when I do that, on the other side, when you're receiving that, you're feeling that connection. Because I'm creating that emotional, personal connection with you right now, through this microphone. That's what your audience wants. But I see so many entrepreneurs struggle with. And so in this episode, I want you to know that it's not just you. But this is by far one of the biggest mistakes and biggest struggles I see with so many online entrepreneurs out there. And part of the reason is, is that you're getting told by so many industry experts that messaging is important. So we put all this attention in messaging, messaging, messaging, let's get the words right, that we forget. Then when that next step comes, let's say you're having a live launch, a webinar, a challenge, whatever you're doing a tic toc even or a podcast, we forget that it's not just about making sure that we hit all the points and say all the things that we wrote down on the piece of paper or typed on the computer screen, but that our audience is seeking something else from us. They're not just seeking that, that information, they're seeking that connection. And when you think about the top experts, thought leaders in your space, a lot of them are really good in the delivery. And that's kind of what makes them the top in their space, is because they know how to communicate their message to you. And if you feel like you're actually holding back and not using your voice, then we've got to look at that as well. So if you feel like you're doing more image based posts, or you're doing all the lip syncing and putting the captions on the screen, but you're not actually using your voice to communicate, and speak your message to your audience, we got to look at that as well. Because essentially, what your audience is seeing from you is, when you're following all those trends, they're seeing you as a follower, and not a leader. In a sense, what happens is that we're getting lost in the online sea of noise. And in the online sea of noise, what we're doing is we're going Flick, flick, Flick, flick, it's very difficult to stand out as the voice of your brand, if you're not using your voice. And if we're trying to stand out, well, then my friends, we need to do something different to what everyone else is doing. The easiest thing to do. And the thing that not many people are doing is they're using their voice, starting to see more of it on tick tock where people are speaking to the screen, and just telling a story. And that's very powerful. And you'll see that that is what you want to start embracing more and more is when you can just have an honest, truthful and real conversation. People are resonating with that, you know, doing all of the things, the trends, which are great, and they're super fun. But it's not about building a big audience and getting those viral views. It's about impacting the people that you are there to serve the ones that are seeking what you have to offer. You don't need that many followers to get your message out and to start making sales and to start increasing your sales. But it starts with your voice. So think about this for a minute. Imagine that you've got the most perfect messaging, like you have worked so hard on this messaging, and you've got it down to a tee. And then you layer in creating that emotional connection with your audience. That real personal, genuine connection from an authentic space. Imagine those two together, that is a powerful combination. Look, the choice is yours. You know, you can either continue to hide behind the trends or not even show up because you're so hesitant to put yourself out there. Or you can start letting your audience in letting them get to know you, the real you having a real connection with them, because that's what they want. And let's see what happens. Let's see what happens when you take amazing messaging, and you deliver it in a way that really resonates with people where they feel seen and heard. And let's see what happens. I guarantee you're gonna like the results. Thanks for tuning in everyone. I hope you enjoyed today's episode. And don't forget I've got a brand new free guide.
