SHOW TRANSCRIPT

You're listening to the voice of your brand Podcast, episode number one, in today's podcast. It's number one. So I'm going to be sharing with you what this podcast is all about what it means to be the voice of your brand, and how to start amplifying your voice with the world that's coming up next. Ready to go behind the scenes and learn what it really takes to stand out as the voice of your brand. I'm Katherine back, voice actor and voice coach. And after 20 years of being the voice of other brands, I'm here to show you how your voice is your most powerful tool to creating the impact, influence and income you desire. The world is your global stage. So get ready to uplevel your voice and your personal brand. This is the voice of your brand podcast. All right, well, welcome to episode one of the voice of your brand podcast. I am your host, Katherine Beck, also known as the Baconator in my online entrepreneurial circles, so you may hear that name being called My way by one or two people on the guest interview circle here on the podcast. So you can call me Katherine Beck, you can call me the Beck inator. I will respond to both. But this podcast is the evolution of my evolution and being a voice coach, and what that means. So for those of you who know a little bit about my story, I come from an acting and voiceover background, I grew up in Chicago, moved to Hollywood did the whole Hollywood thing auditioning by day waiting tables by night, and I ended up moving halfway around the world to Sydney, Australia, that was about Gosh, 1718 years now. And in that move, that was one of many pivots to come. And I had to figure out well, how does an American who sounds American start, you know, working in the film and TV industry in Australia. So surely, I must learn an Australian accent. And I've always been really good at accents. But I gotta tell you, that was really hard for me to do. It took me a year. And in that process, I not only mastered the accent, and was able to book roles, but I learned a lot about our voice. And that's why I'm so passionate about voice is that our voice really tells a story. It tells it our history of who we are and where we came from. And it also tells a story of how we're feeling in the present moment. And what's so fascinating about that is our voice evolves and shifts over time. The voice that I speak with now is not the same voice that I grew up with. And it's not the same voice that I spoke with when I lived in Hollywood. One of the things that I came to notice when I moved halfway around the world is communication is different. In all different parts of the world, the way we interact and communicate is really part of how we fit into our culture. How we fit into society, the voice shifts over time to fit into where you live, for example, here in Australia, you get a lot of upward inflection. So things start to go up at the ends of your thoughts. And they sound like questions. In the US it's the opposite, we tend to go down at the ends of our sentences and and whether or not we realize that just something as simple as upward inflecting or downward inflicting at the hands of your thoughts or statements, that leaves an impression on the listener. So if you downward and flanked, that gives the listener a sense of authority, directness, confidence, in your message and what you're talking about. If you inflict upward, there's hesitancy there's a question because what do we do often when we ask a question, we go up in pitch. So for the listener, they might sense hesitancy, doubt, insecurity, weakness, it's really fascinating where just a simple switch in your pitch at the hands of your thoughts and statements can either attract or repel someone to want to continue to listen to you to listen to your message to want to work with you. So the reality is, is people are making judgments about whether or not they want to listen to you and work with you. Right away within those first few seconds. Those first six seconds are key, and that could be anything from a tick tock an Instagram real a podcast, a YouTube video. Could be a webinar could be a sales call could be a speech on the stage. People are whether or not they realize it, making a judgment call. So for me, this podcast is about a few different things. One, being a visionary, I remember the first time I heard the idea of a visionary or a thought leader, and I thought, gosh, that is exactly what I want to be, I want to be somebody who challenges the norm, who thinks differently, and inspires others to take action. So that is the birth of the voice of your brand podcast, I want you to find your voice within your niche, really step into your brand, what makes you unique, and share it with the world. So three things we're going to dive deep into this podcast with me and other amazing visionary voices, I like to call them, we're going to be speaking to people on this podcast, who really are visionaries and thought leaders within their fields, and use their voice have found their voice, to share it with their audience. So we're going to be talking a lot of what it means to be a visionary, we're going to be speaking to some amazing stories about finding your voice, we're going to be talking about voice branding, you probably know about branding, from a more visual perspective, we're going to be talking about it from a voice perspective, and how unique that is, and can really help set you apart within your industry. We're going to be talking, of course, about voice and the importance of voice and how that as well can really set you apart from your competitors, but also help attract people to want to listen to you work with you buy from you, all the things, our voice is one of our most powerful and most influential tools, and how we can grow your business, grow your brand through the power of your voice. And then finally, visibility, I want you to be able to amplify your very special message and your voice with the world. And so we're going to be talking about different ways that we can be visible through our voice. Obviously, there's going to be a lot of talk about podcasting, here on the podcast. And that is my go to platform. But we're also going to be talking about other platforms to be visible as well, and how that involves your voice. So things like YouTube, to Tik Tok to Instagram, all the things we're gonna be talking about here on the podcast. And we're also gonna be talking about the tools and techniques involved as well. I am a very techy person. For those that don't know that about me. I also come with a film background. I not only studied theater, in college, but I also studied film and my concentration in film was editing. So I know a thing or two about the editing, both visual and audio. And I just love tech, a lot of people don't know that about me. So you're gonna get a little mixture of everything from being a visionary to utilizing and enhancing your voice crafting your message and amplifying it sharing it with the world. How's that sound to you? Does that sound good? So that's what the podcast is all about. One of my core values in my business is about having fun. So I want us to have fun on this podcast and any sort of ideas or topics or things you want to hear on the podcast.
