But first, I want to thank Kelly McCarthy, who sent me this five star review and says Catherine is a wealth of knowledge when it comes to the voice. But it's the way she shares her wisdom and insight with such joy that makes us such a great Listen, a must for anyone building their personal brand. Thank you so much for this beautiful review. Kelly, I really appreciate that. And I think you're right. Joy is so important. When you have an expertise or an insight on something and you come from a place of service of wanting to share it with others, it really shines through. So I appreciate that you're recognizing that in this review. And it means the world to me. And you'll get a chance to be featured here as our listener of the week. So if you'd like this episode, go ahead and leave us a review. All right, let's talk about attracting more loyal listeners and more downloads to your podcast. Now speaking of attraction, I am not going to lie. I haven't felt very attractive this year. In fact, I have felt the very opposite. Why? Well, because 2022 has been one of the most challenging years both personally and professionally. Personally, I've struggled with pain in my lower back. It started in March. And it got progressively worse to where it really stopped me from exercising, everything was just so painful. And when it happened, well, I started to find some comfort with eating food. And slowly but surely I found myself shifting from the person I was who once was super active to now somebody who was chronically in pain, overweight and leaning on food just a little too much. And so the weight gain and the pain really started to make me feel low. And what I noticed is that it started to affect my business, I was feeling unattractive. And let me tell you, when you start to feel unattractive, it is definitely easy to lose that momentum of showing up online losing attraction and losing traction in your business. And when I stopped wallowing in my sorrow, and started to do something about the pain, because I didn't want to feel that way anymore. And I didn't want to affect my business. I don't want it to affect my personal life and my professional life. I wanted to feel better. So I started to do something about it, I went to a physio I started eating right, I started exercising little by little. And slowly I started to get clear again. And then I could focus on my business again. And as my body starts to recover and feel less pain, it's almost there. Still feel a little pain, but not like I did before my body is getting lighter, my head is less clouded. And my attraction is getting stronger. So I bring this up, because I noticed for myself and you may notice this for yourself as well check in and see if you resonate with this at all is that in order to attract and to retain that attraction week after week in my podcast, I needed to start feeling good about myself feeling good about me. So you might be thinking, Well, why why does that relate to a podcast? I'm going to tell you why. Because we can hear it in your voice. Your voice is the gateway to how you feel and how you think. And you really think that people are going to want to listen to your pity party or a stressed out host or a podcast that sounds rushed. Because you just had to get something out that week and put very little thought into it. Your audience is not stupid. They pick up on what you're dishing. Unknown Speaker out. And when you dish out, I don't feel good today, I'm overwhelmed. I don't have time, or whatever that lame thought is in your head, we're going to pick up on it as we listen. So instead, let's try something else. Think about, why did you start the podcast? Was it to get more leads to get more sales, ultimately, probably one or both of those. But was there another reason, if you're anything like me, it would be to have a greater impact in the world, to serve others, to inspire and to ignite action. I know that there is a reason why I've been called to be a voice coach. And while it's taken me a while to figure out exactly why that is, when I started getting feedback from more than one person, multiple people saying that I was inspiring them to take action, I realized that that was my greater purpose, to inspire, and to influence others through my voice, and to yours. That's one of the reasons why I have this podcast. And so if you're having difficulty attracting your listeners, or getting more downloads, ask yourself, have you lost sight of that bigger reason of why you have a podcast, more leads and sales is great, but what's the reason the real reason why you do what you do? hone in on that. And let your voice be the channel for it. It literally is the vehicle that transports your audience what they need. It's as simple as that. So don't overcomplicate it, get down to basics, and remember your why. try closing your eyes. That's if you're not driving right now as you're listening to the podcast. But if you're not driving, try closing your eyes for a moment. And breathe in and channel in your why. What comes to mind. Unknown Speaker And as you breathe out, on the out breath, Unknown Speaker breathe out and think, What are you here to do? Unknown Speaker What is your greater purpose? Unknown Speaker Who are you here to serve. Unknown Speaker And as you breathe in and out, Unknown Speaker and he think about who you're here to serve and what your greater purpose is. I want you to say it out loud. In fact, open your eyes and shout it out loud. Shout it to the rooftops. And I guarantee when you speak from this place, you will call in your listeners, you will attract your podcast tribe. And you will start to see those downloads coming your way. So I hope this podcast has inspired you to serve and to inspire, to influence and to impact.
